Microsoft Office Live
Communications Server 2003 (LCS 2003) provides a
real-time communications platform for corporate
instant messaging, presence, and collaboration including
IM Archiving Services to archive the IM content
to a common SQL 2000 database for entire enterprise
wide IM activity across all IM Home Servers.
In addition, Presence awareness seamlessly integrates
with the Microsoft Office System and line-of-business
(LOB) applications, providing information workers
with instant access to team members as they work. |
However, Microsoft Office Live Communications Server
2003 lacks 'out-of-the-box' many key functionalities
including comprehensive monitoring, reporting and
auditing capability for this Instant Messaging Archives
and also does not provide any statistics relating
to 'Presence' information based on the presence
database.
Cordant's IMConsole 2003 R3
offers an integrated, enterprise grade web
console providing many rich capabilities such
as 'monitoring', 'reviewing', 'flagging',
'reporting', 'auditing' and other administration
features for managing enterprise wide LCS
2003 IM activity. It also adds a new dimension
in its reporting capability by providing Realtime
updates of 'Presence Statistics' using an
entirely new feature named 'Presence Dashboard'.
Significant enhancements over earlier
version includes further improvement
to 'Enhanced Circular logging',
that enables the organizations to monitor
the IM Usage activity within the organization
and generate Management Reports for IM and
Presence Statistics while avoiding the hassles
of maintaining the message archives for various
practical and technical reasons.
Several new 'Reports and Statistics' and also
'Audit Reports' of interest to top management
of an enterprise, have been added to an already
rich set of reports. Options to view drilldown
child reports also have been incorporated
in many such reports. Information on many
new critical parameters has been added to
facilitate determination of ROI on Enterprise
IM investments.
In addition, IMConsole 2003 R3 also incorporates
a 'Presence Dashboard' which
provides to management a bird’s eye
view in real time mode of the 'presence-information'
for different IM Users.
