About Cordant Inc.
Cordant was founded in late 2000 by Sonu Aggarwal,  a pioneer in the Instant Messaging space and a co-founder and COO of Flash Communications, where he architected and patented the first federated Instant Messaging server platform in existence. He has 6 other IM Patents (Titled: Methods and Systems for Message forwarding..., and Inter-enterprise messaging System...) and IM patent applications to his credit. Flash was acquired by Microsoft in 1998 to form the basis of the Exchange Instant Messaging product. As Lead Program Manager for Exchange Instant Messaging, Sonu led the Exchange Instant Messaging team. He was instrumental in developing the Microsoft vision for enterprise Instant Messaging, and the design and architecture of Exchange Instant Messaging. He was also instrumental in developing the RVP Protocol used for Exchange IM. Sonu represented Microsoft in the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) effort on IM standardization, where he was a co-author of Internet RFC 2779, "Instant Messaging Presence/Protocol Requirements".

Cordant is a privately held company headquartered in Bellevue, WA. Cordant's patent-pending technology, based on extensions of the Instant Messaging experience, enables enterprises to communicate with their customers much more efficiently than existing means, changing the nature and experience of such communications.

Cordant's first product IMScribe® 1.0 was released in November 2001. Subsequently its several upgrades have been released. IMConsole 2003 was released in April 2004 and its upgrade Rel 3.0 in June 2005. IMConsole 2005 was released in February 2005 and its upgrade Version 2.0 was relased in October 2005.

Monitoring/Archiving of Instant Messaging content is becoming a critical need for many businesses for regulatory/policy reasons, e.g. in case of financial services and brokerages, SEC and NASD regulations require archiving all digital business communications. This is also a key component of securing enterprise communications infrastructure.

Cordant offerings include IMScribe®, IMConsole 2003 and IMConsole 2005 are designed to meet monitoring/compliance requirements for Exchange 2000 IM, Microsoft Live Communications Server 2003 and Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005. With all IMs being captured and archived to SQL Sever 2000 databases, Cordant's solutions enable web based administration, access control and management of the enterprise wide IM activity, searching and generating a rich set of reports and statistics on the archived IMs.
