Pioneer Unveils Monitoring and Archiving Solution
for AIM and MSN Messenger |
OmniScribe enables
use of public IM networks in Global 2000 enterprises
|
Bellevue,
WA. May 31, 2002 - Cordant™,
Inc., which pioneered the SEC and HIPAA compliant
Instant Messaging (IM) archiving product IMScribe
for Microsoft Exchange 2000, today announced the
availability of IM archiving for public IM networks
such as AIM and MSN messenger. Cordant's IM archiving
and compliance solution, OmniScribe™, helps
enterprises monitor and control IM conversations
that occur from behind their firewalls over the
public IM networks such as AOL and MSN. OmniScribe
enables the financial services and healthcare companies
to be compliant with their regulations (SEC 17a-4,
NASD 3010, HIPAA) related to electronic communications.
"OmniScribe extends Cordant's archiving offerings
to encompass public IM activity" said Cordant's
CEO Sonu Aggarwal. "Global 2000 enterprises are
waiting for a product like OmniScribe to allow their
employees to use public IM networks for instantaneous
business communication."
AIM and MSN do not natively offer the archiving
of IM conversations over their networks. For large
enterprises, the ability to archive and retrieve
IM conversations and the ability to monitor and
manage IM use within an enterprise is a business
necessity. Until now, enterprises requiring IM archiving
have been constrained to use private IM systems,
which offer these features. OmniScribe resolves
these roadblocks for enterprises and enables the
use of public IM networks for their IM needs.
"OmniScribe enables enterprises allowing their
employees to use AOL and MSN Instant Messaging to
meet regulatory and liability requirements for Instant
Messaging communications", said Cordant's Director
of Sales, Eric Rembold. "Our customers have
given us valuable inputs during the development
of OmniScribe that we have incorporated into the
product."
Cordant's first product, IMScribe, was announced
in December 2001, after extensive beta testing and
feedback from large enterprise customers. More information
